FAQs

What does a group dog walk involve?

Your dog is collected from home and driven to an off-leash area with a small group of dogs. We are on-leash getting out of the car and for about 10 minutes until we reach a safe distance away from roads. The hike is a full hour and is mostly off-leash (depending on your dogs needs and behavior). Primarily the focus is on a good hike for dogs and humans, working on any basic behavior training needs where needed to ensure good pack management.

How many dogs are in a pack?

Our business takes comparatively small groups of dogs - up to a maximum of 6 off-leash dogs.

How are the dogs transported?

We use SUVs or 4x4s to transport the dogs. The vehicle is divided into sections using gates, and dogs are placed appropriately based on their travel preferences and to ensure a calm journey for all.

My dogs recall is non-existent, can they join adventure pack walks?

All of our pack dogs start on a long-line. Their recall is tested in a variety of situations and environments before they graduate to a drop-leash, and then off-leash. This can take anywhere between 1 week and a few months. But ultimately we are working towards them being off-leash dogs. If they do not graduate, they will be moved to buddy on-leash private walks. Rest assured we have a service we can tailor to support you and your dogs individual needs.

How much does it cost, and can we get a discount for multiple dogs?

Both pack and private walks are $32. We have only limited spots in the pack and therefore do not offer pack spot discounts.

Do you offer walks in snowy or cold weather?

Yes, we walk year round. Some safety measures are put into place once temperatures fall below -20/-25 degrees - such as walking dogs on-leash and for a reduced amount of time depending on their individual needs and comfort level. As dogs have varying tolerance levels for cold, we group dogs based on their preferences.

Do you offer walks in very hot weather?

Yes, we walk year round. Some safety measures are put into place once temperatures rise above 20 degrees - such as walking dogs in the river and providing frequent water and shade breaks. Some dogs are moved to private on-leash walks and walked for a reduced amount of time depending on their individual needs and comfort level e.g. flat-nosed breeds. As dogs have varying tolerance levels for heat, we group dogs based on their preferences.

Which Calgary neighborhoods do you provide dog walker services?

Please read Our Locations page. We offer dog walker and pet sitter services in Parkdale, St. Andrews Heights, West Hillhurst, Hillhurst, Kensington, Briar Hill, Capitol Hill, Banff Trail, Collingwood, Charleswood, Brentwood, Dalhousie, Varsity, Varsity Estates, Silver Springs, University Heights and University District.

We also offer pet services in some areas of Rosemont, Cambrian Heights, Ranchlands, Hawkwood and Edgemont.

How many people will walk my dog?

Each dog is typically assigned 3 dog walkers. This ensures a continuation of service when a walker is on vacation. Our small team-based model means your dog (..and family!) is familiar with a small group of walkers, whilst you get the peace of mind of a reliable service that doesn’t cancel without notice. Our team are fully-insured and background checked. Following your meet and greet, your dog is personally introduced to their walkers by Emma.

How do the dog walkers keep my home secure?

We will agree a secure system for accessing your home at the meet and greet.

How do I book a walk?

First step is to contact us to arrange your free meet and greet. Once we accept you as a client you will have access to our dedicated booking app where you can book pet services, chat to the team, share important information about your pet, review and automatically pay invoices.

Private dog walks

$32 per 30 minute walk

Some of us are a little more selective about who we walk with. Or just don’t want to go as far as the average Rex.

A private walk provides your dog with a more tailored walk, designed to support pups who have individual needs.

But a private walk doesn’t mean the end of adventure. We design private walks that take your dog into new and exciting areas - exercising their body and mind.
